Astrid Hillerud
Astrid Hillerud (2000) began to play the cello at the age of 4. Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, she began her musical studies at Lilla Akademien in Stockholm with mrs Elisabeth Lysell Bjermkvist. Her studies continued later with prof. Ola Karlsson. She is currently studying her bachelor at Edsbergs Musikinstitut with cellist Jakob Koranyi.
Astrid has participated in many different masterclasses and festivals across Europe, including Lac Leman Music Masterclasses, Voksenåsen Summer Academy, Buchenau International Music Festival and Musicworks where she has met renowned cellists such as Frans Helmerson, David Geringas, Torleif Thedéen, Giovanni Gnocci.
Astrid is a keen chamber-musician and has performed as soloist and as a chamber musician in Sweden and she has met teachers and musicians from all over the world. She has been awarded many different prizes and scholarships, including Sandrews, Welin and from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. She is currently playing a cello from 1772 made by Swedish instrument maker Johan Öberg.
