OPENING CONCERT

Toke Møldrup, cello, and Tanja Zapolski, piano

The cellist Toke Møldrup is making an international career. He just won The International European Broadcast Union Music Competition, and in 2007 he won The Danish Radio String Competition. He is 28 years old, and he is also the cellist of Paizo String Quartet, winner of one of the prestigious Melbourne International Chamber Music Competitions.
   Tanja Zapolski is known as one of the best, younger pianists in Denmark. This season she made her debut from The Royal Danish Music Academy.
   The performance is broadcasted live on Danish Radio.

Marko Mustonen, piano
Winner of Nordic Piano Competition 2007

The Finnish pianist Marko Mustonen was born in 1984, and he has placed himself as phantastic, young soloist. He won first prize in Nordic Piano Competition 2007, and has been performing in Scandinavia, Germany, Israel and USA. This concert is his Copenhagen debut.

Jalina Trio – Line Fredens, violin, Janne Fredens, cello, and Marianna Shirinyan, piano

Jalina Piano Trio is one of the best young, Danish chamber ensembles. The sisters Line Fredens (violin) and Janne Fredens (cello) performs with the Armenian born pianist Marianna Shirinyan, who is a member of Esbjerg Ensemble since 2003. Jalina Piano Trio was formed in 1995 (with another pianist), and has won prizes in several international compettions, among others in Osaka, Trondheim, and Danish Radio Chamber Music Competition.

Wednesday July 30 - 4:30 PM

Carl-Oscar Østerlind, cello, and Christian Ellegaard, violin, Tanja Zapolski, piano

Performance with rising musical stars. Christian Ellegaard was born in 1983, and he has studied at The Royal Danish Music Academy and Edsberg Instiute in Stockholm. Earlier he has won prizes in Berlingske Music Competition and Jacob Gade Violin Competition. He has performed in Scandinavia, Europe and USA.
  Carl-Oscar Østerlind was born in 1984, and has won prizes in Øresunds Solist, Berlingske Music Competition, and he won The Jacob Gade Prize 2007. He is at present studying in Stockholm at The Acadmy of Musiic, and he of is also the cellist of The Young Danish Tring Quaret.
  At the piano we hear the talented and experienced Tanja Zapolski.

Trio Rama – Mathias Kjøller, clarinet, Tobias Lautrup cello, Jakob Alsgaard Bahr, piano

The young musicians of this trio are students at The Music Academy in Århus. They have already played a number of remarkable concerts in Denmark, and each of them have won prizes in National competitions. This is their Copenhagen debut.

Jonathan Siahaan, piano and Adam Woer, flute

Jonathan Siahaan, 19 years old, is one of the most talented younger Danish pianists. He has won prizes at Danish Radio Competition, Steinway Competition and Berlingske Music Competition.
   In this program you can also hear Adam Woer, 16 years old flute player, who has just won Gold Medal in Berlingske Music Competition.

Young Soloists

Niklas Walentin, violin and Gustav Krog Hansen Piekut, piano

Two young, true musical talents. The violinist Niklas Walentin is 14 years old and he has already won the most important national competitions, Øresunds Solist, Danish Radio Competition, Jacob Gade Violin Competition and Berlingske Music Competition. He plays Niels W. Gade and Kreisler. Gustav Krogh Hansen Piekut won first prize at Steinway Competition 2008. He is gifted, and has reached far in his pianistic development.

Daria Rabotkina, piano

Russian-American star pianist who makes a great career in USA. She won Concert Artists Guild International Competition 2007. This is her first appearance in Denmark. She has performed as soloist with great American orchestras, Moscow Philharmonics, Montreal Symphony.

Winners of Øresunds Solist and Danish Chamber Players

The first prize winners from Øresunds Solist Competition 2008, Linn Persson (saxophone), Jakob Lund Nielsen (violin), and Frederik Orth Kølbel (cello). They play together with Storstrøm Chamber Ensemble.

Piano music for 4 hands

Rikke Sandberg, piano; Poul Rosenbaum, piano

Two well known Danish pianist plays a programme with piano four-hand music. The young Rikke Sandberg and the experienced Poul Rosenbaum. In the programme there is music by Kuhlau and a special version of the orchestral masterpiece Le Sacre du Printemps by Stravinsky, who made this arrangement himself.

Winner of Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition 2008

At this concert we present the winner of Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition 2008, Hrachya Avanesyan from Armenia. It will be the first performance in Copenhagen with the prize winner of this prestigious competition. At the piano we have the Russian pianist Lily Maisky.

Young Russian Soloists from Central Music School of the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory,
coming musical stars

Again this year we present very young, extraordinarily talented, Russian soloists, chosen by Spivakov Foundation. They are Sergey Beliavskiy (piano), Sherniyaz Mussakhan (violin) and Artem Naumenko (flute). They are 14-15 years old, and they perform a mature programme with music by Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Paganini, Rossini, Schubert and Bach. The flute player Naumenko will also play his own arrangement of Peer Gynt Suite by Grieg.
