OPENING CONCERT

Ning Feng, violin, Thomas Hoppe, piano

Programme with the young Chinese violinist Ning Feng. He is finishing his studies at Hochschule für Musik Hans Eisler in Berlin. He won Michael Hill International Violin Competition in 2005, and Paganini Competition in 2006. During his studies at Royal Academy in London he was the first student ever to get the highest mark for his Final Recital. This will be his first appearance in Denmark, and he performs together with the pianist Thomas Hoppe.

Monday July 30 - 4:30 PM

Natalie Clein, cello

The young, extraordinary cellist Natalie Clein. She belongs to the top of the young English generation of musicians, who have become famous in the international classical world. Since she got first prize in The BBC Young Musician of The Year (1994) and Eurovision Competition for Young Musicians, her career has developed phantastically. She has been a soloist with leading symphony orchestras and conductors, and has recorded several CD’s with sonatas by Brahms, Schubert, Chopin and Rachmaninoff.

Ensemble Northern Light

Ensemble Northern Light consists of violin, piano, cello and clarinet. Since the highly praised debut in 1997 they have had a glorious career with lots of concerts in Denmark and abroad. The quartet is specializing in music of our time, but also plays the classical composers.

Oleksandra Zaytseva / Dmitry Tavanets, piano

Henrik Svitzer, flute

The piano duo has won prizes at several international competitions, a.o. Piano Duo Competition in Paris 2002, and Schubert Piano Duo Competition in Prague 2005. Both pianist live a very active international career as piano soloists.

Henrik Svitzer belongs to the top flute players, he has received a number of international prizes, and is also a highly respected professor at The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.

Kenny Aaberg Larsen, flute

Duo Bjarke Mogense, accordion and Bastian Schneider, cello

The young prize winner from Øresunds Solist, Kenny Aaberg Larsen (flute) is studying at The Royal Danish Academy of Music. He has won prizes in Berlingske Music Competition, Jacob Gade Talent Prize, and Nordea scholarship.

Duo Bjarke Mogensen (accordion) and Bastian Schneider (cello) are students at the Music Academy, yet already pursuing professional careers. Bjarke has won a number of prizes, a.o. Jacob Gade Prize 2000, DR2 Competition for Young Soloists, Gold and Talent Prize in Berlingske Music Competition, and several scholarships. He performed in Copenhagen Summer Festival last year, and this time we will hear a sparkling duo program.

Young musicians from the famous Barrat Due Music Institute, Oslo, plays chamber music.
This elite music school has existed in Oslo for several generations. Many musical stars have studied here, and in this programme we present a quintet with four strings and a pianist.

MGK Klavertrio – Jorinde Schulz, violin; Lisa Nyeng, cello; Laurits Dragsted, klaver

Niklas Walentin, violin

A programme with the youngest talents. Niklas is just 12 years old, and yet he is one of the greatest string talents we have seen in many years. He has won prizes in all the most important Danish music competitions.

MGK is a special pre-academy educational program in music. The talented trio are in the beginning of their studies.

The young, extraordinary American pianist, Simone Dinnerstein plays Goldberg Variations by J.S. Bach. Since her debut in Carnegie Weill Recital Hall in 2005 she has received overwhelming reviews for her concerts as well as CD’s. She has a brilliant career in the US with performances in major concert halls in the country. She performs her London debut in 2007.

Programme with young talents from The Royal Danish Academy of Music.

Trio Aristos together with winner of Carl Nielsen International Competition 2006,
Alexandra Grot, flute

One of the leading, young flutists in Europe will return to Copenhagen Summer Festival. She has won several prizes, a.o. in Rumania, Russia and Germany. Presently she is studying with Adorjan in Munich, and Artaud in Paris.
