Louise Fribo

Louise Fribo is born in 1970 and completed her education in 2003 at the Royal Opera Academy in Copenhagen, where she studied with Susanna Eken. She also numbers Ingrid Bjöner, Josef Protschka, and Inga Nielsen among her teachers.

She has after many years as a great actress and musical singer started singing classical music instead.

Since then she has been active in Germany and Denmark, with the Royal Opera Copenhagen, Theater Lübeck as Blonde, Zerbinetta, Musetta und Barbarina, collaborating as well with conductor Adam Fischer, the Danish Radio Sinfonietta, and the Danish Philharmonic Orchestra. Even before the start of her operatic career she was an active performer in musical theatre, appearing in the London and Hamburg ensembles of Andrew Lloyd Webbers Cats, in Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods, and Claude-Michel Schönberg’s Les Misérables, as well as portraying Cunegonde in Bernstein’s Candide, and being heard in Danish-language soundtracks of Disney musical films, and participating in Lars von Trier’s Geister II television production.

Louise Fribo has won many musical awards, among them the Friends of Århus Summer Opera Scholarship.

In the occasion of H.C. Andersens 200 year and Motzarts 250 year will she perform as Costanza i Mozarts Il Sogno di Scipione in Klagenfurt and in Salzburg festival this year 2006.
